None of us were raised in a barn, but we all got here as fast as we could.  The romantic notion of living off the land while dedicating time to our craft, appeals to all of us at Backroads.  Although there are many 18 hour days when we realize our past naiveties, we still wouldn’t trade this “Peace of the Past” existence.  Our artists and artisans have distinct stories with a common thread: pride in their work, both in the studio and on their homesteads.  We will do our best to keep our website full of handmade stuff, but have to ask for your understanding that these pieces are made individually and sometimes we just can’t keep up with demand.  Nothing will be offered here that wouldn’t be welcomed & celebrated in our own home.
