We spent 10 years escaping the congestion and city pressures by heading to Lunenburg County for weekends or an occasional week.  Two years ago, we finally traded in the fast lane for our own dirt road full time.  We have met so many people that have spent their lives celebrating this land and its bounty and many that have recently moved here, just like us, to do the same.

One of the things we have enjoyed wherever we have lived is digging in the dirt.  There’s nothing better to us than walking into our kitchen garden to pick warm fruits, herbs and vegetables for dinner or a late lunch.  That was the first order of business when we were able to move here full time – a proper kitchen garden to literally feed our need for home grown food, herbs and lots of flowers.

About 2 years ago, this produce/nursery came up for sale.  We were frustrated by  the amount of time spent traveling to garden centers in other towns or BIG BOX stores to gather what we wanted for that season’s garden.  We thought there may be plenty of people, just like us, that would appreciate something closer to home.  We did a little fixing up and made a few changes, then found some of the most talented people to join us  and Twigs & Berries opened in April 2011.  Today, we offer plants of every variety, flowers, home decorating products, opinions, knowledge and professional designs for all or a part of your home.

Our first year has been filled with a lot of learning, laughter and satisfaction.  Thanks to everyone who helped with our journey!
